Health Tips

Over many years I have studied, practised, and apply many different approaches to helping the mind and body heal.

Below are details of 3 modalities/approaches I put into practise regularly.

For me, they have a very similar foundation. The approaches may be different, but the goal and understanding of how we can become unwell and heal, in mind & body, is the same.

A Little More About the Qigong First..

You may be familiar with Qigong, or not. Either way it's important to mention here that there are 100's of different styles of Qigong. I resonated very much with one of them in particular. The Qigong style developed by Master Chunyi Lin, founder of Spring Forest Qigong due to it's simplicity and effectiveness!

I teach a weekly Qigong practise group in person, in my home town of Warkworth, New Zealand. I also record it and it's sent out to many people around the world.

I also teach Level 1 certification class via SFQ, and I use the methods of qigong healing for myself and in my sessions too.

Click here, to check out some recordings I have done. These not only give you a taste of the style of Qigong we teach but also how I communicate and teach.

It's important you resonate with whomever you choose to learn from!

Qigong

What is Qigong?

Qigong, also spelled as chi kung or chi gung, is an ancient Chinese practice that combines movement, breath control, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body's vital energy, known as "qi" or "chi." The word "qi" refers to the life force or energy that is believed to flow through all living things. Qigong encompasses a wide range of exercises and techniques that are designed to enhance the flow and balance of qi within the body. These practices often involve gentle movements, coordinated breathing patterns, mental focus, and visualization. The exercises can be performed in a standing, sitting, or lying down position, and they can be done slowly and gently or more dynamically. The goal of practicing qigong is to promote physical health, mental clarity, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Regular practice is believed to strengthen the body, improve flexibility and balance, boost the immune system, calm the mind, reduce stress, increase energy levels, and enhance overall vitality. Qigong has roots in traditional Chinese medicine, Taoism, and martial arts, and it has been passed down through generations for thousands of years. Today, qigong is practiced by millions of people worldwide as a form of self-care, exercise, and meditation. It is also sometimes used as a complementary therapy in conjunction with conventional medical treatments. It's important to note that qigong is not considered a substitute for medical treatment. If you have any health concerns, it is advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise or wellness practice.

Accunect

Accunect? What's that?

Accunect is a holistic healing system that combines ancient wisdom and modern science to address imbalances in the body-mind system. It is based on principles from traditional Chinese medicine, quantum physics, and other holistic healing modalities. Accunect aims to restore balance and promote self-healing by identifying and releasing blockages in the body's energy system. It recognizes that physical, emotional, and mental imbalances are interconnected and can manifest as various health issues. By addressing these imbalances at their root cause, Accunect aims to facilitate the body's innate ability to heal itself. The practice of Accunect involves gentle touch and light tapping on specific points on the body, similar to acupressure and acupuncture techniques. These points correspond to energy centres, or "acupoints," along the body's meridian system. By stimulating these points, Accunect practitioners aim to restore the flow of energy and information within the body, allowing for self-regulation and healing to occur. Accunect sessions typically involve an assessment of the client's energy system using muscle testing or biofeedback techniques. The practitioner identifies areas of imbalance or stress, and then proceeds with the appropriate protocols to restore harmony. The system also incorporates the practitioner's intention and awareness to facilitate the healing process. While Accunect is considered complementary or alternative medicine, it is important to note that scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited. As with any holistic healing modality, it is advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before pursuing Accunect or relying solely on it for treatment.

Emotion Code & Body Code

What are these codes?

The Emotion Code & Body Code are holistic healing systems developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson. They are based on the premise that imbalances and blockages in the body's energy system can lead to physical and emotional issues. The aim is to identify and release these imbalances, allowing the body to restore health and well-being. The Body Code (an advanced and more indepth course from Emotion Code) incorporates principles from various fields, including traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic care, applied kinesiology, and energy healing. It operates on the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal itself if given the right conditions. Using muscle testing or applied kinesiology, practitioners of The Body Code aim to identify and address imbalances in six key areas: Energies: This includes identifying and releasing trapped emotions, which are unresolved emotional energies that may contribute to physical and emotional imbalances. Circuits and Systems: The Body Code examines the body's energy systems, organs, glands, and other body parts to identify any imbalances or dysfunctions. Toxins: It addresses toxic agents such as heavy metals, chemicals, and pathogens that may be affecting the body's health. Pathogens: This involves identifying and addressing any harmful microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, or fungi. Misalignments: The Body Code checks for structural imbalances, such as bones, muscles, nerves, and connective tissues, and aims to correct them. Nutritional and Lifestyle: This aspect focuses on identifying nutritional deficiencies, intolerances, and imbalances in lifestyle choices that may be affecting health. Once imbalances are identified, the practitioner uses various techniques, including energy healing, to release the imbalances and restore balance to the body's energy system. The goal is to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It's important to note that The Body Code is considered an alternative or complementary healing modality, and its effectiveness and benefits are still a matter of debate within the medical and scientific communities. If you're interested in exploring The Body Code, it's recommended to consult with a trained practitioner and to maintain open communication with your primary healthcare provider.
